Annette Kruhl already wowed her audience at the Altes Gasometer on Women’s Day 2024 with her program “Männer, die auf Handy starren”. Now the Berlin cabaret artist and author is presenting her novel “Tausche Ex gegen Sex” (Droemer Knaur): A satirical stocktaking of our anything-is-possible society, in which commitment is out and love has degenerated into a consumer item. Kruhl succeeds in creating an entertaining novel with depth and a biting, blunt study of modern relationship and communication confusion in the age of Tinder, social media & co.In the middle of it all: protagonist Marlene Berger, an unconventional and courageous female character, perhaps the German Carrie Bradshaw. After the first one-night stand of her life, the music producer and mother of two says goodbye to her long-term marriage and throws herself back into life without restraint. In the process, she encounters eccentric ex-boyfriends, expert cheaters and neurotic night owls, but has to realize that swapping exes for sex only brings limited happiness.

Annette Kruhl spices up the excerpts from the novel with songs and cabaret interludes, offering her audience a varied and highly entertaining reading show.
