Labyrinth of Lies

Germany at the end of the 1950s: the economy is booming, people are doing well again and the events of less than twenty years ago are slowly but surely being forgotten. One day, however, the journalist Thomas Gnielka causes an uproar in the Frankfurt court when he wants to report a former Auschwitz guard who was identified by a friend in a school playground and who can now apparently go through life unmolested as a teacher. However, the journalist is met with rejection. Only the young public prosecutor Johann Radmann listens to him and wants to clear up the events. He receives support from the public prosecutor Fritz Bauer, who puts him in charge of the investigation. Radmann throws himself meticulously into the case and completely neglects his private life. Even Marlene, whom he has just met, is unable to influence him. But he also falls out with friends and isolates himself from his environment in order to work through the labyrinth of denial and repression and to convict and punish the perpetrators.
