The fourth edition of “Tanz(t) in den Mai” was a real highlight, all about celebrating, dancing, coming together, and discovering.
Starting at 6 PM, participating cultural organizations opened their “doors” and invited everyone to join in. For those feeling hungry in between, Apeland spoiled visitors with handmade food, accompanied by delicious cocktails and fresh non-alcoholic drinks. The Kunstplantage, Kevin Brewery, Projekt 46, der rote Baum e.V., Alois, and Alter Gasometer transformed the street into a colorful avenue of dance and culture with their offerings. In this relaxed atmosphere, people could dance into May, meet old friends or get to know new people, and experience the creative diversity of Zwickau.
A special highlight was the opening of the escape room “Unknown Discomfort.” The concept drew a lot of interest, particularly due to its unique theme: arriving in a fictional country as a person with a migration background. Curious guests could learn more about the escape room and even make a reservation. Many visitors were surprised by the powerful atmosphere it created.
Those in the mood for a musical statement could give it their all at the karaoke bar in the vacant shop next to Bistro Hill. People sang their hearts out – from classics to current hits. Performances ranged from beautifully sung to hilariously off-key – everything was welcome. The mood was joyful, filled with laughter and celebration.
April 30, 2025, was an evening full of energy, creativity, and community. Around 600 guests celebrated peacefully together with music, dance, and conversation, showing how much fun and diversity Zwickau’s independent cultural scene has to offer.
