Poetry Slam
No matter where you come from, how old you are or what you like, the spoken word gives you the power to express yourself.
The Poetry Slam is a series of events (3 – 4 events a year) for all people who like to be surprised or amaze others.

Would you like to spin stories of love, truth and betrayal? Or angrily hurl injustice in the face of the system? It can all happen. WRITE A TEXT. Find a place where you can be creative. There is no right or wrong! GET IN TOUCH WITH US. We’ll make an appointment with you, you’ll get all the information and SHOWTIME. Let’s go!
We also organise themed workshops from time to time. Whether it’s a Deaf Slam – a poetry slam for hearing and deaf people, in cooperation with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, a political slam – the thematic examination of election programmes or a queer slam.
Procedure of a poetry slam:
Poets, stage writers and wild word twisters duel it out at a poetry slam. They present their written works with spoken words and humour. Then it’s the audience’s turn to judge their contributions with loud applause.
Rules:
1. the text must be self-written! Quotations must be labelled! Whether poetry, prose, stand-up or rap – any form of text is permitted.
2. there is a time limit! The text presentation should be between 5 and 10 minutes.
3. props! It’s about you and the text (regardless of whether the object is related to the text). However, a text sheet, if necessary, is allowed.
4. no disguise! We ask that you do not dress up so that texts are not distorted. On stage you look as you always do.
5. no singing! No matter whether someone can sing well or badly. A sung part before a slam is allowed by arrangement, but not during the slam.
