Fête de la Musique Zwickau 1

Fête de la Musique Zwickau

What began in Paris in 1982 with the idea of the then French Minister of Culture Jack Lang and a great deal of musical idealism has long since developed into a global event. Every year on 21 June, the world celebrates the Fête de la Musique – the festival of music – and this year for the first time in Zwickau too, albeit in a smaller version for the time being.

It is a non-profit music festival that takes place every year on the day of the beginning of summer. It is organised by various cultural players and citizens of the city, is open to the public, in the open air and there is no admission charge. There is music to be heard, whether professional or amateur. The Fête is open to all styles and musicians, who perform free of charge.

The Zwickau Fête de la Musique in Zwickau, with its many participants, is coordinated by the Alter Gasometer e.V. association and has been taking place since 2021.
